We hope that you and your children have been enjoying the season to date. It has been lovely to see so many taking part in training, some great results by our teams, and a number of fantastic performances by our juniors in both senior cricket and County Pathway matches.
We do though want to make sure everyone remains safe at the ground, and after a couple of incidents recently please can ALL parents remind their children (and any guests) of the following
Children MUST stay within the cricket ground. We cannot have children playing on the golf course or in the river, both of which happened on Friday. If, for example, a football is kicked out of the ground, children should ask an adult to retrieve it. This is both for the safety of the children and out of courtesy to our neighbours.
Glass bottles must not be taken on to the cricket pitch. If your child has a J2O or similar, please ask for a plastic cup or keep it in the seated area
Parents are responsible for their children when they are not participating in organised cricket activities. With this in mind, please consider what your child may need in the forecast high temperatures this week - additional water and suncream for starters.
A reminder as well if you haven’t paid (including upgrades from tasters), please do so using the details here or by card at the club. And if you haven’t completed a registration form for each child, please do that too (you don’t need to do a second time if upgrading from a taster, but we do need this to have emergency contact and medical details). For those who have prior to the last week are so and are new to the club, your membership cards are now available from Jerry - he will be running an outside bottle bar this Friday and they can be picked up there.
Given that one session was lost partially to rain and we had a reduced number of coaches in half-term, we can confirm that the main training season will continue until Friday 22nd July. We also plan to continue through the summer at a small additional cost; we’ll confirm details nearer the time. We will also have summer camps running at the club every Tuesday and Wednesday in August - booking is open now through Future Legends, details as attached.
And finally, we are really pleased to share that HS2 have now released the funds for our new nets. Work to replace the current nets and replace them with three state of the art lanes will be carried out in the autumn ready for next season.
As ever, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to speak to one of us at the club. And a reminder to join the Club Comms WhatsApp group here.
